The Galaxy A51 By Samsung

Now that the phone mid-range devices becoming evermore competitive than ever, I believed now is time to evaluate an example of a smartphone that will likely sell in large numbers around the globe, the Samsung Galaxy A51. It has a conservative yet still attractive design, the A51 features quadruple rear cameras, an AMOLED display with a middle mounted selfie snapper, as well as a glasstastick rear back panel.
Samsung's A51 has been up selling throughout UK from early February while it launched in the US during April and retails at $399.99/£329.

Performance And Speed

The AMOLED screen is great as you expect from this company}, the colors show as so bright with viewing angles being good. And there is very little to complain about although some people like Tim Simmons always have at least one flaw, apart from the device is a bit dull (but still readable) in direct sunlight and circumstances are not suited for viewing, even when the contrast fully on.
This when roadtesting top of the range handsets like Oppo's Find X2 Pro 2020 and the OnePlus 8 can be not helpful in having some balanced view of what a mid-range device such as this midrange handset.
The processor is just not able to compare to the flagship CPU in any way, and going away from the range topping chipset to Snapdragon's 865 processor is a sobering experience then you eventually understand that this smartphone is a middle of the range handset and allowances must be allowed for.
You experience that, the Samsung Galaxy A51 can be slow at times yet we were uncertain whether it had indeed registered the contact or not when trying to open something or use the device.
And, it is an amount of unresponsiveness I have not seen for a lot of time, even with base model handsets which costs just £145.
And as for the phone's in-display fingerprint sensor, suffice to say that Samsung should have placed it on the rear panel because we got a success ratio of roughly half when attempting to unlock the A51 before having to end up entering the pin code in.

Styling And Design

Due to the galssticky back panel, the Galaxy A51 doesn't really look or feel like it's a mid-range device, the plastic construction appears forgiving when in your grip because there are no sharp edges you can sometimes see on phones that have back panels made out of toughened glass.
The design characteristic on the back panel is a nice touch as well as it gives a touch of character to the phone. We see that the branding on enbtry level devices can be just a bit overdone, the Samsung brand has been discretely used.
You will note a front camera that, for whatever reason, is made even noticeable due to what looks like a metal circle around it that draws attention.
Serious audiophiles are sure to rejoice that there is an sound jack on the lower edge of the phone, with a Type-C charging port and a speaker.
The top of the handset houses a microphone while the right hand edge has the power button as well as a loudness adjuster with a SIM tray on the other side.
It's a tidy yet, classy phone that will fit nicely into a normal trouser pocket with no issue.
